Between September 29 and October 1 2025, Metropolis will bring its global community together in Seoul, capital of the Republic of Korea, for our extraordinary Metropolis 40th Anniversary Seoul Congress. Far more than a celebration, it’s a moment to define what comes next for cities worldwide. From megacities to emerging capitals, regional governments, and urban innovation hubs, the Congress will unite the full spectrum of metropolitan actors—political leaders, technical experts, and forward-thinking teams—each contributing their perspective to the urgent urban agenda.
This defining moment builds on four decades of collective action across the Metropolis network. With the Mayor of Seoul, Oh Se-Hoon, hosting and the Mayor of Rabat, Metropolis President Fatiha El Moudni, joining peers from all regions, the Congress will spotlight shared solutions and global collaboration between the world's largest cities under the theme of Metropolitan Futures.
