Mexico DF and the Île-de-France Region share urban worries

 

Miguel Ángel Mancera, chief of the Government of the Federal district of Mexico, undertook a trip to France on May 26 and met the President of Metropolis and the Region Île de France, Jean-Paul Huchon.

During the meeting they addressed numerous collaboration areas between both agendas, like sharing experiences on housing, urban social development, urban crime prevention, solid waste and water management.
The authorities of the Region Île-de-France expressed their willingness to collaborate with the city of Mexico in studies and investigation on management of the water, transport and passengers' mobility.

Miguel Angel Mancera Espinosa and Jean-Paul Huchon emphasized the metropolitan coincidences between the cities of Paris and Mexico thus they came to an agreement to collaborate in territorial planning, environment, water and infrastructures.

The mayor of Mexico D.F. took the opportunity of his trip to the city of lights to meet with the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, but also the French Head of Government, François Hollande.
The city of Mexico is member of Metropolis since 2008.
