Jean-Paul Huchon, President, and Prime Minister Manuel Valls have signed an agreement for 2015-2020 between the Ile-de-France Region and the French Central Government for a total of €7.3 billion. This sixth plan agreement focuses above all on improving public transport, with more than €5.3 billion earmarked to promote resident mobility and improve transport connecting all areas.
It also aims to:
-foster job creation and economic development in the French capital region, above all through measures to support education, research, innovation and digital technology,
-help reduce social and territorial inequalities,
-support sustainable urban planning and regeneration in the most disadvantaged neighborhoods,
-help build a new model for development through specific actions addressing the ecology and energy transition.
