Barcelona warms up for WUF-7 with roundtable on urban equity

The Kreanta Foundation, partner of the Metropolis Initiative “Transferring Knowledge and Cooperating in Culture, Education, and City”, invites for the roundtable "Cities for Life, Equity in Urban Development", next Monday, March 3, in Barcelona. The event serves as a preparation for the discussions of the upcoming 7th World Urban Forum (WUF -7) in Medellín, and will count on the participation of the Secretary General of Metropolis, Alain Le Saux.

The other participants of the round table will be Albert Civit, deputy manager of Planning of the City of Barcelona, ​​Maravillas Rojo, secretary general of the Iberian-American Center for Strategic Urban Development (CIDEU), and Carmen Sánchez-MirandaGallego, head of the UN-Habitat office in Spain. The session will be presented and moderated by Felix Manito, president of the Kreanta Foundation, and Sandra Bestraten, member of the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC).

This roundtable will serve as a preparation for the upcoming international events to be hosted by the city of Medellín, one of the most active members of Metropolis, and which are focused on discussions about urban development. The WUF -7 will take place from April 5 to 11, with the theme 'Cities for Life, Equity in Urban Development"and seeks to promote a new vision of the city, where equity, economic growth and urban planning allow the creation of quality living spaces, where citizens can develop sustainably. In addition to this great event of UN-Habitat, Medellín will also host, from April 3 to 5, the 21st Congress of the Iberian-American Center for Strategic Urban Development (CIDEU).
