METROPOLIS SOLUTIONS LABS
The Solutions Lab model is Metropolis’ approach to policy exchange—bringing cities together around a common metropolitan challenge.
The goal of our exchanges? Bring life to the ideas and solutions, tips and insights of our members worldwide.
If your local government / organization is interested in partnering with Metropolis to fund a Solutions Lab, you can find out more here.
All of our Solutions Labs support at least one of our five strategic priorities:

Metropolitan futures
Metropolises anticipate possible futures, plan in order to shape them, and innovate to generate new opportunities.

Metropolitan ecosystems
Metropolises function in harmony with their natural environment, reducing their ecological footprint, and adapting to environmental change.

Cohesive metropolises
The benefits and opportunities generated in functional metropolises are fairly distributed.

Metropolitan institutions
Governance is adapted to existing and upcoming metropolitan realities, answering to the needs and preferences of inhabitants, and ensuring accountability.

Gender equality
Women and men enjoy the advantages of Metropolitan life equally and are considered equally in the planning and management of metropolitan spaces.

In June 2024, representatives from Montevideo, San Salvador, Madrid, Belo Horizonte, Mexico City, Los Angeles and Valencia all gathered in Bogotá to develop solutions that improve the safety and mobility of women in their respective cities.
