The World Forum on Cities and Territories of Peace is conceived as a multi-faceted and multi-level meeting place for local leaders, international organizations and networks, NGDOs, academia, and civil society, aimed at opening dialogue, reflection and the construction of solutions that promote urban environments capable of eliminating expressions of violence: BUILDING COEXISTENCE AND PEACE WITH THE IMPORTANT ROLE OF CITIES

The Forum arises from a joint initiative of the mayors of Madrid, Paris, and Barcelona, announced at COP 21, as a space open to the contributions and participation of international organizations, city networks, civil organizations and citizens to consolidate "cities of coexistence and peace".
