The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award) serves as a platform for the sharing and exchange of innovative practices in the local implementation of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and New Urban Agenda (NUA). Its objective is to contribute to the creation of inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and human settlements. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, cities and local governments have been facing severe challenges.
In the framework of the UCLG World Council 2020, Guangzhou, UCLG and Metropolis organize this interactive side event with experts who participated in the Systemic Research on the International Urban Innovation and representatives of Guangzhou Award-winning or shortlisted cities to discuss the new trends of urban innovation that emerged during the pandemic and how urban innovation helps build back better.
The webinar starts at 12:00-13:00 (CET)
