Rethinking metropolitan governance: deadline for applications

Metropolis and UOC (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya) offer you this online course of 100 hours spanning 14 weeks. 

It requires approximately seven (7) hours of weekly study. In addition to these 14 weeks, there will be a week at the beginning of the training on how to use the virtual campus and classroom tools, and a few more days for the participants to introduce themselves in the classroom and read the teaching plan.

Those who successfully complete all the subjects of the course will be issued a certificate, issued by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

Programme modules:

- M1: Metropolitan governance: models, variables and challenges
- M2: Right to the metropolitan city in the framework of the New Urban Agenda and Agenda 2030
- M3: Metropolitan economic and sustainable development practices and policies
- M4: Case study.

 

Requirements and instructions for registering for online training


The course is open to all persons, of any nationality, institutionally linked to the members of Metropolis, with political or technical position, especially those who carry out their professional activity in the field of the implementation of public policies. The course will be taught in Spanish and English; therefore, applicants must demonstrate knowledge of one of these languages.
 
In order to submit your application, please send an e-mail to the Metropolis General Secretariat by 12 September, 9:00 am (GMT) to the Learning Project Officer (Mrs. Hélène Jourdan) with the subject "Application for the course on metropolitan governance", attaching your curriculum vitae and a letter of institutional endorsement, signed by the person with the highest position in your respective department in the public administration.
 
Places are limited to 25 participants. All complete applications will be reviewed and selected in accordance with  the following criteria:
  • Recommendations specified in the institutional letters of endorsement
  • Gender equity of participants
  • The diversity of regional representation
All applicants who apply for the course will be informed of the results of the selection by 18 September.
