Mapping Metropolitan Gender Policies: presentation of study on safety in public spaces

In the framework of UCLG Retreat and Campus, we are organizing a side-event that will be the opportunity to present the final results of our most recent research project: “Safety and public spaces: Mapping metropolitan gender policies” to map the policies and measures being implemented by metropolitan governments around the world to combat sexual violence against women and girls in public spaces.

Drawing on the lessons learned by metropolises, international organizations and stakeholders, the event will focus specifically on implementing both the 2030 Agenda and the NUA, which itself pays special attention to participation, inclusion and recognizes safety in particular as a necessary requirement for sustainable urban development.
