Climate Metropole

Fact Finding Workshop ‘Climate Change Adaption – Strategies, Actions and Challenges’

The first workshop of the Climate-Metropole + initiative will be held in Berlin and will present the main challenges and actions of Berlin to adapt to climate change.

The aim is to learn how Berlin plans and implements its urban areas and its infrastructures lastingly resistant to the negative effects of climate change, through presentations and a field trip to look at urban development in situ. The workshop will also discuss the plans, actions and challenges faced by the other partners in the Climate Metropole + initiative: Barcelona, Liverpool and Lyon.

The objective of the second day is to discuss specific climate change adaptation actions, which could be considered as good practices for other cities (strengths) or have potential to be improved (weaknesses). The output of the workshop will include an action plan for the future workshops in the other three partner cities as well as draft recommendations for climate change adaptation in metropolis to be finalized at the end of the project.
