The Tehran Golden Adobe Global Award is an innovative urban management initiative which was established by Municipality of Tehran and has been bestowed annually since 31 October 2014, coinciding with World Cities Day. 

The Award targets the promotion of livability of cities and citizens' quality of life, expanding the international communication and interaction, improving the capabilities in the field of urban infrastructures and introducing and utilizing the experiences on implementation of better projects and practices in our cities.

The projects winning the first to third place in each category, will be awarded Tehran Golden Adobe Global Award trophy and appreciation plaque. Also, the Municipality of Tehran has commitment to facilitate the participation of winners at the Awards ceremony, providing entrance visa issuance and covering the travel expenses of the mayor or representative of each winner city including (air ticket and local accommodation).
