The Women’s Institute of Mexico City is the public administration body of the Mexico City Government responsible for incorporating gender mainstreaming into the design, application and evaluation of public policies that promote the full exercise of women’s human rights and promote their empowerment, as well as bear an influence on the transformation of the organisational and administrative structure of public bodies.
The Women’s Institute of Mexico City, as a governing and regulatory body of gender equality policy in Mexico City, focuses its efforts on two fundamental lines of action:
Mexico City offers the expertise and infrastructure of its School of Public Administration (EAPDF) to host a MITI Regional Center for the Americas & Caribbean

EAPDF was created in December 2008 as a decentralized public organism and has the purpose to contribute to the training, professionalization, updating and specialization of public servants in the Mexican Federal District. In addition, the school conducts research and generates knowledge about Mexico City’s current and future problems through a metropolitan perspective, inspiring the formulation of better public policies.
The school takes the role of MITI regional center for the Americas with enthusiasm and determination to contribute to the institutional strengthening and capacity building of high-level civil servants. It offers academic programs in line with Metropolis’ objectives and with the demands of the cities in the region.
