The first meeting of Commission 3: Integrated Urban Governance was held during 24-25 November 2009, in Porto Alegre. This event was an excellent occasion to start C3 works and experience the well recognized policies undertaken by Porto Alegre in urban governance. The program included the presentation of best practice case studies, technical visits, exchanges and discussions between politicians, technical experts and scientists. Moreover, a brainstorming driven by expert-facilitators from Berlin provided the opportunity to formulate general or specific demands and expectations concerning C3 works.
