Caring cities
Aim

If we want to see the concept of ‘caring cities’ take form on the ground in terms of the tangible ‘experience’ of our cities, we must also establish a way to measure and monitor our progress. A ‘care barometer’ would need to include those elements that reflect a caring city, and with this, ultimately, what it means to be an ‘equitable’ city.

Description

The initiative will explore the idea that a caring city is also about the more personal experience of a city, it would be important that such a barometer includes both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ measures to be included as well.

Objectives

To establish a way to measure and monitor different cities and their progress to becoming a caring city. A ‘care barometer’ would be developed to include those elements that reflect a caring city, and with this, ultimately, what it means to be an ‘equitable’ city.
