The event, brought to a close on 26 November 2011 in Porto Alegre, presented various solutions for governance, urban planning, participatory democracy, innovation, the fight against climate change, sustainability, peri-urban agriculture and renewable energies, and set forth the new guidelines for Metropolis for the next three year

We are pleased to announce that the Smart+Connected Communities Institute (CISCO) will live broadcast the following sessions from the Metropolis World Congress "Cities in Transition" November 24 and 25 from Porto Alegre:

Opening Ceremony – 24 November / 12 am (CEST)

Plenary Session: Participatory Democracy and Citizenship Culture – 25 November / 9 am (GMT-2)

Urban Innovation Session - 25 November / 3pm (GMT-2)

The countdown has begun to the Metropolis World Congress entitled “Cities in Transition”, which will take place in Porto Alegre between 23 and 26 November 2011 http://portoalegre2011.metropolis.org/!
