More than 200 people gathered together in Barcelona yesterday, within the framework of a symposium organised by the Metropolis Women International Network, to discuss and deliberate on policies regarding public space and urban development from a gender perspective.

The next Commission 1 “Cities and Climate Change” meeting will take place in Paris, on the 15th, 16th and 17th of December 2010.

The session will tackle some of the different problems linked to human activities and climate change, such as the principal challenges concerning water resources, forests, agriculture, biodiversity, urban heat islands, city planning and transport. In addition, we will deal with changes in climate and the main risks posed by extreme meteorological phenomena: severe floods, heat waves, etc. Additionnally, and on behalf of Mayor of Nanterre M.Patrick JARRY,  the training session will be followed by a technical  on-site visit on ecological neighborhood in the City of Nanterre(4 km from Paris) on 17th December.
