The awards ceremony for the 4th edition of the Metropolis Awards shall be held on Friday 25 November next. This year’s edition sees an unparalleled number of entries to this competition, which amount to 38 projects from 27 cities, making it the edition with the highest number of entries to date. 

On 8 October last, the Metropolis Board of Directors approved the composition of the jury that is to assess the entries for the 4th edition of the Metropolis Award; an edition that brings together a total of 43 projects from 27 cities, the highest number of entries of all the editions held to date. 

The jury of the current edition is made up of the cities of Berlin, as first prize winner in the previous edition; Cairo, as host city of the Congress; Abidjan, Montreal and São Paulo. Each of the jury members, appointed by their respective cities, has already been given all the projects in order to review and assess them according to the criteria set forth by the Award conditions. The jury will meet on 24 and 25 January in Paris to pool their assessments, to deliberate and to rate the finalist projects.

On the 30th July, the deadline for the 2011 Metropolis Award's nominations ended.  The participation was a huge success. 27 cities have taken part presenting a total of 43 projects. Metropolis welcomes the participation of all the candidate cities and now it is up to the jury to decide which are the winning projects.

The Awards will be presented at the gala dinner hosted by the President of Metropolis at the 2011 Cairo Congress.
