National Forum of Municipal Managers of International Relations (FONARI)

The National Forum of Municipal Managers of International Relations (FONARI) will be held from August 23-25 in São Paulo in the context of the II International Week of City Diplomacy (II SIDC).

As one of the main actors in the contemporary international system, cities play a key role in cross-cutting and fundamental issues for global development, such as combating climate change, increasing urbanization and reducing inequalities. In turn, international cooperation is presented as a fundamental mechanism for solving our main local and global problems.

The event will intend to relaunch  FONARI by reviewing and updating its objectives, structure, strategy, management and operation, seeking to resume the Forum's leading role in the promotion and articulation of international relations of Brazilian municipalities. The initiative aims to strengthen the administrative structures and the ecosystem of international
international relations, promoting greater cooperation - national and international - amongst Brazilian cities, and contributing to the development of better local public policies. It will be a space for dialogue and technical and political debates, bringing together municipal managers and local authorities. All Brazilian capitals and the Federal District will be invited, in addition to the other municipalities in the country with active international relations structures.
