2nd World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments (Third session)

The World Assembly is the political mechanism through which the local and regional government constituency is making its joint inputs to the Habitat III process. It builds on the first session that gathered local governments in Istanbul during Habitat II. It is convened and facilitated by the Global Taskforce (GTF), the technical consultation mechanism set up by local and regional government networks. You can find out more about the GTF and our activities at www.gtf2016.org

The World Assembly will hold its third session in Quito on 16 October, gathering elected officials, Mayors, Governors, Councilors and local government networks. The Assembly will present the constituency’s recommendations to the Habitat III process. It will highlight its vision and signal the areas that need to be prioritized. It will further present the commitments of local governments post-Quito and the implementation of the development agenda.
